ASG Board Member Code of Ethics

  1. No ASG Board member will participate in any candidate's campaign for Mayor or City Council until after all endorsements for the general election have been announced by ASG. Prior to such endorsement of candidates for the general election by ASG, Board members will not participate in any candidate's campaign for Mayor or City Council except for the purposes of promoting ASG's endorsed slate of City Council candidates and serving a liaison and coordinating function between ASG and an endorsed candidate's campaign.

  2. After ASG endorsements have been made, ASG Board members may actively campaign only for those candidates for the general election who have been endorsed by ASG.

  3. If an ASG Board member decides to campaign for a candidate who has not been endorsed by ASG for the general election, that Board member must step down from the ASG Board.

  4. All donations received by ASG in the amount of $100 or above will be reported to the Board on a weekly basis.

  5. ASG will not accept any donations from any candidates running for Mayor or City Council during the period starting six months prior to the Mayoral and City Council general election and and extending six months after such Mayoral and City Council election.

  6. All deliberations among ASG Board members about candidates' questionnaires and other factors related to the endorsement process will remain confidential.

  7. ASG Board members will conduct themselves in the same manner as they expect Alexandria's elected officials to conduct themselves, including civility towards all, respect for differing opinions and honesty in all matters.
